James Castrission has been inspiring Australian audiences as an explorer. Known for pushing himself to the absolute limits, James explores strategies to overcome challenges in our personal and professional lives.

In 2008, James and his friend Jonesy paddled 3318km without assistance across the Tasman Sea. With sheer will and determination, they became the first kayakers ever to cross the Tasman Sea, which was also the longest transoceanic double kayak expedition in history. Having braved the treacherous conditions of wind, rain and 10m swells, the duo also had to push through their physical limitations of sleep and food deprivation.

Once they finally arrived on the shores of New Zealand, their excitement and survival instincts were so overwhelming that they didn't even notice how exhausted, sunburnt and underweight they had become. Four years later, the pair sought out another grand adventure by completing the longest ever unassisted expedition. They spent nearly 90 days walking across the icy continent until they reached the South Pole and back. Skiing an astounding 2275km, they returned from their expedition having made history once again.

Drawing on his experiences, James has published two books titled ‘Crossing the Ditch’ and ‘Extreme South’ to reflect on his adventures and the mindsets required to achieve his goals.

Collaborating to Win

Effective collaboration is the most important element of success, whether you’re striving to grow a company or you’re voyaging across an ocean or tundra. Without real collaboration both endeavours are bound to fail.

In this engaging keynote you’ll learn critical steps in creating a tribe that is aligned and working together, that supports each other, and that doesn’t put personal ambition and success over that of the organisation.

This is the perfect session on how to develop a “culture” that is geared towards collaboration, and ultimately: success.
